This Little Babe
This Little Babe, from Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, is a lesser-known Christmas song. This performance is by the MaĆ®trise de Radio France. Their French accent adds a bit of charm. If you’re not familiar with this piece, the echo effect is actually antiphonal singing, not a real echo. This is the best recording I’ve been able to find, and it still doesn’t do justice to the musical power of this piece.
