Have you ever wondered why the Creator of the universe decided to enter His creation? Based on what we saw yesterday, Jesus came to Earth, at least in part, because we needed Him. He clearly cares about us a great deal. God’s love for us is a major theme of Christmas. Christmas is a time for celebration. It’s a time for joy and excitement. But, the celebration and joy are set against a backdrop of great need and even sorrow. We’re excited about Jesus’ arrival, in part, because we recognize that we need Him. In fact, the more we appreciate our need for Christ, the more we can appreciate His coming.

What are you doing to get ready for Christmas? Thanksgiving and Black Friday are behind us. It’s all downhill now! We shop, decorate, cook, throw parties, attend parties, send out Christmas cards, and we never seem to have enough time.
